The Healthy Start Coalition of Miami-Dade is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) with the goal of reducing infant mortality, reducing the number of low birth weight babies & improving maternal/infant health and developmental outcomes. Current positions available as of September 1, 2008: 

POSITION TITLE: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT (Multiple Positions)
This FT position will provide general administrative support to the executive director and office staff.  Applicants must have 3+ years experience in administrative support, possess effective written and verbal skills and display high proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Publisher or other similar software. Basic knowledge of maternal and child health issues a plus. Bilingual is highly desirable.

POSITION TITLE: MEDICAL RECORDS ABSTRACTOR
This PT position will work with the Fetal Infant Mortality Review Project. BS nursing preferred or clinical background in obstetrics, pediatrics, neonatology or perinatology. Experience in medical records abstraction preferred. Reliable transportation required. Computer proficiency, ability to communicate clearly and concisely (verbal and written) and ability to work independently a must. Individuals with and attention to detail are encouraged to apply.

POSITION TITLE: SUPERVISOR/MANAGER
Responsible for overseeing program outcomes, performance measures.  Supervise programmatic and administrative staff. Assist in data collection and analysis. Prepare and maintain records, reports and data. Masters degree in maternal and infant health, public health  or related area preferred. Minimum of 6 years of management experience. Resumes may be shared with organizations that are contracted by the Healthy Start Coalition of Miami-Dade and have relevant vacant positions.

The Coalition is hiring for various positions in its Health Connect In The Early Years Program (HCITEY) funded by The Children’s Trust. The HCITEY Program is a voluntary home visitation program focusing on health prevention, education, and promotion. The program will improve maternal health, pregnancy outcomes, child health, and development for teens and first time mothers regardless of their risk level, socioeconomic status, or geographic location in Miami-Dade County.

 

POSITION TITLE: FAMILY COACH (multiple positions)

This FT position will provide educational, promotional and support services in participant’s home or alternate locations; will refer and facilitate access to medical services helping to overcome enrollment barriers. Requirements: BS in social services, health care or related field preferred, or an AA degree in nursing with two years exp.; Doulas or Midwives with 1-2 years exp.  providing direct services. Ability to conduct home visits, work flexible hours, work with families of different ethnic backgrounds and establish trusting relationships. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus. Reliable transportation required.

  

POSITION TITLE: RECEPTIONIST

This FT position provides support to the HealthConnect staff. Job duties include: data entry, receiving incoming calls, and performing various clerical duties. Applicants must have two to three years of front desk receptionist experience, excellent phone etiquette and customer service abilities, computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, ability to handle multiple calls and communicate clearly and concisely. Basic knowledge of maternal and child health issues a plus. Bilingual English/Spanish required, trilingual a plus.
