Women's Health and Racial Disparities in Infant Mortality - Free Professional Development Workshop
Jackson Memorial Hospital Diagnostic Treatment Center (DTC)

The Healthy Start Coalition of Miami-Dade invites professionals in the field of maternal, infant and child health to attend this free professional development workshop. 

Objectives: At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

· Identify the leading causes of mortality for women and infants, specifically according to race.

· Describe the contributing factors for mortality for women and infants.

· Discuss specific health concerns as reported by women.

· Promote positive health messages.

Free Continuing Education Hours:  MD, LM, RN, LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, LD, RD receive 2.0 contact hours.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essentials Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of the Florida AHEC Network and the Healthy Start Coalition of Miami-Dade. The Florida AHEC Network designates this educational activity for 2.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™  Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Miami-Dade AHEC is an approved provider #50-1349, (Exp. 03/09) for continuing education credits for Social Workers, Marriage & Family Therapists, and Mental Health Counselors.
